On 3 March 2026, in Omlitan, Guerrero, several men ambushed, shot and killed two members of the Union of People and Organizations of Guerrero (UPOEG) who were returning from a work meeting in Chilpancingo and were driving by the bridge on Mexico-Acapulco road. The victims worked as the Public Works Director and the public accountant of the municipal government of Ayutla de los Libres. The UPOEG maintains a confrontation with Los Ardillos Gang, although it was not confirmed whether the gang was involved in this attack. 2 fatalities.
