On 9 May 2021, 2 police officers and 5 civilians were killed, and 5 other civilians were wounded, in an IED explosion that went off in the bazaar of the Spin Boldak district, Kandahar, resulting in a house being destroyed. It's unclear who set the explosive. The bomb had been planted in a private vehicle.
