On 9 May 2021, 11 civilians were killed, and 28-41 others were wounded, in a roadside bomb on the Kabul-Kandahar highway that hit a passenger bus in Muskan Camp area of the Tarang Wa Jaldak (Shahr-e Safa) district, Zabul. Afghan MoI blamed Taliban for the attack - Taliban has not commented.
