Two men arrested in Tlaquepaque with a firearm and allegedly counterfeit license. The arrest occurred on the Chapala Highway during an operation by the "Cheetahs" Motorized Squadron. Officers from the Guadalajara Metropolitan Police arrested two men in San Pedro Tlaquepaque for allegedly carrying a firearm and using a document that appeared to be counterfeit from the Ministry of National Defense. The incident took place in the La Duraznera neighborhood after officers spotted a pickup truck speeding. After pulling the vehicle over and conducting a routine search, they seized: a .380 caliber handgun, three magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition. The men presented a firearms license that, after official verification, turned out to be fake. Francisco "N," 46, and Juan Carlos "N," 40, were turned over to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. According to the 2025 Mexico Peace Index, approximately 500,000 weapons enter the country illegally each year, a phenomenon that directly impacts regional security.
