On 2 March 2026, Ukrainian forces, notably Alfa SBU forces, hit with drones the naval base 'Novorossiysk' in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar region. According to Russian sources, around 150 drones were intercepted around Novorossiysk, Sochi and over the Black Sea. According to the Ukrainian sources, 3 sailors were killed, 4 ships were attacked, 2 of which were (Admiral Essen and Admiral Makarov frigates) were damaged.
