On 2 March 2026, in Kyawt Pa Lu village (coded as Kyainseikgyi) (Kyainseikgyi township, Kawkareik district, Kayin state), an armed 55-year-old civilian opened fire during the lunar eclipse. Subsequently, members of the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) arrived at his home to arrest him. He opened fire at the member of the DKBA. In response, the DKBA fired back. 2 members of the DKBA and a civilian were injured. The armed civilian was killed. 1 fatality.
