On 2 March 2026, between Naung Kaing and Hti Hpar Leit villages (coded as Naung Kaing) (Kawkareik township, Kawkareik district, Kayin state), fighting broke out between a joint force of the Myanmar military and the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army, and the local resistance groups. The Myanmar military conducted airstrikes during the armed clash. Casualties unknown.
