Other MoA event in Central Papua, Tembagapura area, Indonesia on Mon 2nd March 2026

On 2 March 2026, an armed clash broke out between TPNPB and the Indonesian military forces at the Mile 69 area in the Tembagapura district (Mimika regency, Central Papua province), following the attack at a school in a residential area in Tembagapura earlier that day (coded separately). The military claimed that a rebel died and arrested 6 Papuans whom they suspected of being rebels. The 6 Papuans were released the next day. The victim's family members claimed that he was not a rebel, but a gold miner at PT Freeport Indonesia's mining area. The military also confiscated several items, including a pistol, ammunition, an air rifle, arrows and bows, and a power bank.
