2nd March 2026
On 2 March 2026, Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes targeting a 12-story building housing Hezbollah's financial institution, Al Qard al-Hasan, in Tyr (Tyr, South). The strikes caused severe material damage to nearby residential neighborhoods, shops, and supermarkets. Fires broke out in several shops, and the Civil Defense and Al-Risala Scout Association worked to extinguish the flames and clear roads blocked by collapsed debris. Casualties unknown. The IDF stated it 'completed a wave of airstrikes across Lebanon against branches of the Al Qard al-Hasan association, known to be used by Hezbollah as a quasi-bank.' According to the Israeli military, the association is used by Hezbollah to store funds, manage salaries for its operatives, transfer money from Iran, and procure weapons.
