On 2 March 2026, around 5am Manama time, Bahraini forces intercepted 1 missile fired by Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) over Khalifa bin Salman Port (Muharraq, Bahrain). As a result of the interception, shrapnel fell on the Stena Imperative chemical/oil products tanker ship (IMO: 9666077), setting it on fire. The ship's crew were evacuated safely, but 1 Asian shipyard worker was killed, and 2 others were injured due to shrapnel. Some sources reported that two projectile hit the ship and that there were no casualties following. Fatalities coded as 0 following the most conservative estimate. Local emergency services managed to put out the fire on the ship eventually.
