On 2 March 2026, military troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in conjunction with Benue State Civil Protection Guard, clashed with a Benue militia on the Katsina-Ala- Zaki Biam road, coded to the closest populated Katsina-Ala (Katsina Ala, Benue), killing 2, while others fled with gunshot wounds. The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a pair of green camouflage uniforms. There were 2 fatalities.
