On 1 March 2026, an armed clash broke out between TPNPB and the Indonesian military and police forces during a raid at the rebels' headquarters in Kali Harapan village (Nabire district, Nabire regency, Central Papua province). A soldier sustained a gunshot injury to his left leg. The TPNPB's spokesperson claimed that the rebels shot at two of the military helicopters that were firing at them. They claimed that the helicopters sustained damage. The Indonesian military claimed that they confiscated several items from the rebels' headquarters, including hundreds of rounds of ammunition, 10 firearms, money, and cellphones.
