On 1 March 2026, Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes in the Shash Darak area of Kabul - PD9. Locals reported hearing several loud explosions, with gunfire continuing for about an hour. This neighborhood houses a number of Taliban government and intelligence facilities, including Directorate 40 of the Taliban's intelligence service and offices of the Urban Development Ministry. The Taliban did not comment on the explosions but confirmed that their air defense carried out attacks against Pakistani aircraft. Casualties unknown.
