On 1 March 2026, a joint team of police and CRPF personnel clashed with CPI (Maoist) cadres after an improvised explosive device explosion, and exchanged fire in the Saranda forests in the Chotanagra and Jaraikela police station areas (coded to Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, Odisha), during a combing operation. A CoBRA personnel was injured in the IED explosion. Another CoBRA Head Constable was injured during the exchange of fire. Several Naxal-Maoist cadres were killed. Unspecified number of fatalities coded as 3. Total 3 fatalities.
