On 1 March 2026, a small explosive-laden drone of unknown origin (likely affiliated with US-Israeli forces) fell on a PMF 50th Brigade (Babiliyyun Brigade) checkpoint in the Bartalah area in Tilkaif district (Ninewa), causing damage to a caravan structure only. The strikes followed heightened alert measures by Nineveh Operations Command due to escalating US-Israel and Iran tensions. There were no fatalities.
