On 1 March 2026, unidentified aircraft, believed to belong to US or Israeli forces, conducted two airstrikes on positions of Kataib Hezbollah affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces the 45th Brigade in the Akashat area (Al Rutba, Al Anbar). The strikes hit three sites, including one during ambulance evacuation, killing 4 fighters and wounding 11 others. The attack occurred amid wider US-Israeli and Iran hostilities. 4 fatalities.
