On 13 May 2021, Houthi forces shelled artillery at civilian neighborhoods in Al Kalabah and Taizz - As Sifaa (Salh) in the northeast of the city, as well as near the Air Defense Camp in Taizz - Bir Bashah, As Sakaniyah (unknown), Taizz - Al Bararah, Taizz - Madinat an Nur (Al Mudhaffar), and by Taizz - Old Airport (At Taiziyah) in the northwest of the city. According to source, the artillery strikes resulted in at least civilian injuries.
