On 28 February 2026, in Oke Ta Ra Thi Ri township (Oke Ta Ra district, Nay Pyi Taw union territory), the People's Defense Force - Beikthano opened fire at a Myanmar military vehicle carrying 12 Myanmar military soldiers on the Magway-Kan Pyar road. The driver and another military soldier escaped. The People's Defense Force - Beikthano retreated when the reinforcements of the Myanmar military arrived. 10 military soldiers were killed.
