On 28 February 2026, between Acatitlan and Agua Caliente, Sinaloa, armed individuals traveling in five vehicles (one of them armored) shot at state police forces and Military forces who were chasing them using helicopters and ground forces between Acatitlan and Agua Caliente (drive-by). After the chase and clash, fourteen men were arrested, two of them injured, and 19 automatic firearms (including a Barrett-50), 93 explosive devices, two hand grenades, five vehicles (one of them armored), magazines, and cartridges were seized.
