On 28 February 2026, suspected Fano and ethnic Amhara militias clashed with Oromia regional police and Kebele militias in Tulugana, Abe Dongoro (Horo Guduru Wellega, Oromia). The violence began when members of the Fano armed group attempted to steal cattle. At least 5 individuals who tried to resist were shot and killed, and 7 more people were injured. The armed group also opened fire on people attempting to assist the wounded. In addition, 3 homes were set on fire and destroyed.
