Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, NAF engage suspected terrorists in Maiduguri outskirts

Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation HADIN KAI were involved in heavy gunfire in the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno State, after reporting movement believed to be terrorists in the area.

Residents in nearby communities reportedly came out in large numbers to cheer the troops as they advanced to the scene. The sighting and ensuing response caused temporary alarm, but authorities have confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far.

Security sources said the troops, operating under intelligence-led patrols, quickly secured the area and maintained a heightened state of readiness to prevent any terrorist infiltration into the city.

“The CO is there. They just saw some movement and the troops responded with heavy fire. No cause of alarm. We are all at alart,”said the sources.
