Civil Guard Attacked in Michoacán: One Officer Wounded and Three Trucks Set on Fire to Block Attackers' Escape. A blocked highway, an injured police officer, and a high-level operation: this is how the attack unfolded in Salvador Escalante. On the Opopeo-Pátzcuaro highway, in the "Los Tanques" area, suspected criminals intercepted drivers, seized three trucks, and set them ablaze to prevent the Civil Guard from pursuing them, after having attacked an officer who was wounded. The Secretary of Public Security, José Antonio Cruz Medina, arrived in the Pátzcuaro area to lead the response operation. The suspected attackers managed to escape before reinforcements arrived. Authorities are working to identify those responsible.
