Armed Attack in the Mixteca Region Leaves Four Dead; Prosecutor's Office Opens Investigation in San Mateo Nejápam. Two men opened fire from a moving pickup truck on people in the street, according to witnesses and authorities. In San Mateo Nejápam, a municipality located on the border between Oaxaca and Guerrero, the attack occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Porfirio Díaz Street. Three victims died at the scene, and a fourth died that same night at a medical center, according to hospital staff. Authorities confirmed that the former treasurer of the local council was among the deceased. The alleged perpetrators, traveling in a black pickup truck with at least two occupants, fled toward the state of Guerrero after the attack. The Oaxaca State Prosecutor's Office processed the scene and opened an investigation to identify those responsible.
