Civilian with AK-47 Arrested in the Sierra de El Rosario; Army Also Seizes Homemade Armored Vehicle and Nearly 2,500 Rounds of Ammunition in Simultaneous Operations. Three communities in the municipality saw military actions on Monday, March 9, resulting in significant weapons seizures. In Matatán, Mexican Army personnel intercepted a man dressed in camouflage clothing carrying an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and 23 rounds of ammunition. The detainee was apprehended after a surprise operation; a search of the area yielded no camps or accomplices. Simultaneously, in El Chilillo, an abandoned pickup truck was found containing three rifles, a handgun, and 397 rounds of ammunition. In Buenavista, the military seized a rifle, 13 magazines, more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition, nine tactical vests, and a vehicle with homemade armor under construction, known as a "monster" type. All the seized items and the detainee were presented to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, as confirmed by the SSPE (State Public Security Secretariat).
