Reconnaissance operation on rural roads exposes presence of war materiel in the Choix region During surveillance patrols through the northern mountains of Sinaloa, marines from the Eighth Naval Zone detected a black Lincoln Aviator station wagon, without license plates, parked without occupants at the point known as "la cuesta del pollo", along a path between Chinobampo and the ejido El Frijol. The vehicle inspection yielded the following items, as confirmed by authorities: - 3 AR-15 rifles - 1 AK-47 rifle - 16 high-caliber magazines - 224 rounds of ammunition (.223 and 7.62x39 mm) - Chest protectors, helmets, knee pads, and tactical accessories. According to official reports, the weapons are presumed to have belonged to civilians allegedly linked to a criminal group active in the area, although no arrests were made during the operation. The material was turned over to the Attorney General's Office (FGR) in Los Mochis for the investigation into the origin of the arsenal.
