SAA event in Mexico on Mon 16th March 2026

Three Captured and Two Killed After Attack on Police in Mountainous Municipality of Chihuahua. Security forces repel attack on dirt road. A group of approximately 15 armed individuals opened fire on security personnel during a patrol in the municipality of Guadalupe y Calvo, as confirmed by state authorities. The confrontation occurred on a stretch of road between El Ocote and Atascaderos, where the State Police, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the State Investigation Agency participated in a coordinated operation. Faced with the security forces' response, the attackers attempted to flee. As a result of the operation, according to official information, the following items were seized: - 7 rifles - 14 magazines - Tactical vests and equipment - Hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Two members of the armed group were killed during the confrontation. The three alleged members arrested and the seized material were turned over to the Public Prosecutor's Office for further investigation.
