Military personnel seize explosives, weapons, and improvised armored vehicle after repelling an attack in Acatitán, San Ignacio, Sinaloa. A joint operation between the Army, National Guard, Navy, and federal prosecutors led to the discovery of war materiel following a confrontation with suspected members of organized crime. According to the Interinstitutional Group, the incident occurred during ground reconnaissance operations in the town of Acatitán, when military personnel were attacked with gunfire. Upon neutralizing the attack, law enforcement seized the following material: - 2 rifles - 18 magazines, one of which is a drum magazine - 900 rounds of ammunition - 1 vehicle with improvised armor - 7 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) of the slow-burning fuse type. According to the official report, the explosives were destroyed on site by military specialists. The vehicle and the remaining material were turned over to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. Authorities urged citizens to use 911 and 089 for emergencies and anonymous reports, respectively.
