SAA event in Mexico on Mon 16th March 2026

The Attorney General's Office confirms an investigation and personnel are on the scene. Three people were killed, allegedly by a group of armed individuals who fled after the attack in the village of El Castillo, a rural area of ​​Xalapa, Veracruz. The incident was reported around 6:00 a.m. on the Xalapa-Alto Lucero highway, near Río Acuña Street. According to the State Attorney General's Office, a multidisciplinary team—comprised of prosecutors, forensic experts, and Ministerial Police—immediately arrived at the scene to collect evidence in accordance with legal procedures. Approximately 30 spent shell casings were found at the property, according to unofficial sources. The lines of investigation remain open to determine the identity and whereabouts of the alleged perpetrators of the attack.
