RPG event in Jammu and Kashmir, Ranar Forest, Bandipora District area, India on Wed 11th March 2026

On March 11, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in the Ranar forest area in Bandipora District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Recovered items included one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) launcher, five RPG rounds, one Light Machine Gun (LMG) with two ammunition belts, seven AK magazines and 544 AK rounds. SFs also recovered three ammunition pouches, one pistol magazine, one grenade and five Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) grenades along with other war-like stores. Officials stated that the hideout appeared to be old, as most of the recovered material had rusted, suggesting it had remained unused for a considerable period.
