SAA event in Chattogram area, Bangladesh on Tue 10th March 2026

On March 10, Police arrested three terrorists identified as Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury alias Emon, Mohammad Monir and Mohammad Sayem in raids conducted in various places of Chattogram city in Chattogram District along with SMG (sub-machine gun), pistol and revolver, reports Prothom Alo.  Police officials concerned say that these people arrested with weapons are associates of fugitive gangster Sajjad Ali alias Boro Sajjad abroad.  Additional Commissioner of City Police Wahidul Haque Chowdhury said that on February 28, terrorists opened fire on the house of Smart Group Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury in Chandanpura area of ??the city after failing to receive a ransom of crores of taka. The three arrested confessed during initial interrogation that the three weapons recovered in the incident were used.
