Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Jharkhand, Manjhlatol, Giridih District area, India on Mon 9th March 2026

On March 9, a joint team of the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and local Police arrested two cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) from Manjhlatol village under the Bengabad Police Station limits in Giridih District of Jharkhand. The Times of India reported that the arrested cadres were identified as Pankaj Yadav (22) and Pawan Kumar Singh (23), both wanted in several Maoist-related cases. Security Forces (SFs) recovered incriminating materials, including explosives and arms, during the operation. Pankaj, a resident of Chilkakhar village under Charkapathar Police Station limits in Jamui District of Bihar, is accused in multiple cases, including murder and illegal possession of arms, and is suspected to be involved in the killing of former Maoist ‘commander’ Lakhon Yadav. Pawan, a resident of Bhagalpur village under Satgawan Police Station limits in Koderma District, also faces charges of murder and illegal possession of arms. The arrests followed technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, and the accused were later taken to Bihar for further legal action.
