On March 9, Joint forces recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives during a day-long operation in the Jungle Salimpur area of Sitakunda Sub-District in Chattogram District, reports The Daily Star. Chattogram Range Polices Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ahsan Habib Palash said three firearms, including a locally made pistol and a foreign-made pistol, were recovered during the operation. Besides, 27 locally made pipe guns, three pistol magazines, 27 pipes used for manufacturing weapons, 61 cartridges, and around 1,113 rounds of ammunition of various types were seized. The joint force also recovered 11 crude bombs, 18 hex blades used for cutting, as well as tools such as hammers, pliers, wrenches, drill machines, and other equipment used for making weapons. A total of 22 people have been arrested so far, said the DIG. Three cases have been filed against unidentified individuals under the Arms Act and Explosives Act in connection with the incident.
