On March 05, Security Forces (SFs) defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Communist Party of India–Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres during a combing operation in Saranda Forest along the Edalbera–Babuldera stretch under Jaraikela Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand, reports The Times of India. Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Renu stated that a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was immediately deployed after the IED was detected and it was safely defused in a controlled manner. The IED was reportedly planted to target SFs operating in the area.
