The #Masam Project destroys 926 mines and explosive remnants of war in Mukalla. Emergency teams from the Masam Project for Mine Clearance - Yemen, in cooperation with the Executive Mine Action Center, Mukalla branch, carried out an operation today (Thursday) to destroy 926 pieces of mines and explosive remnants of war. According to the project's media center, the destroyed materials included various shells, mines, and rockets, as follows: 6 anti-tank mines, 3 anti-personnel mines, 25 mortar shells (82mm), 75 mortar shells (81mm), 105 mortar shells (60mm), 55 RPG rounds, 9 tank shells, 12 B-10 shells, 4 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 83 anti-tank mine fuses (T62), 258 Katyusha rocket fuses, 253 artillery fuses (122mm), and 38 mortar fuses. The center stated in a press release that this destruction operation, carried out today, is the sixth of its kind in the city of Mukalla, Hadramawt Governorate, since mid-January. It emphasized that MASAM, which has been documenting destruction operations since its inception in Yemen, is determined to complete its mission of clearing the areas where it operates to ensure the continuation of daily life for civilians in a safe environment free from mines and explosive remnants of war. The statement added that with this operation, the total number of materials destroyed by the project's teams in Mukalla since January 17th has reached 12,413 pieces of mines, improvised explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance.
