Two soldiers, including a column commander, were killed in a landmine attack on a terrorist military column advancing into Paungde Township, Bago Region, and 32 houses were reduced to ashes after the military set fire to Thae Mae village, Comrade Shadow, the military intelligence and news information officer of Pyay District Battalion 1, told Khit Thit Media.
On March 6, around 6:00 AM, a column of 50 personnel from Light Infantry Battalion 10 based in Pauk Taw village, Paungde Township, advanced toward Thae Mae village. They were attacked with landmines near the cemetery west of Thae Mae village by Company 2 of Pyay District Battalion 1, under the command of Strategy 21.
