Projectile event in Magway Region, Aunglan area, Myanmar on Thu 5th March 2026
5th March 2026
Terrorist military forces have been launching daily heavy artillery attacks on villages in Aunglan Township, Magway Region, forcing thousands of residents from more than 10 villages to flee, according to an official from the Aunglan People’s Group who spoke to Khit Thit Media.
At approximately 11:00 AM yesterday, March 5, junta troops stationed at the Bwet Gyi bridgehead southeast of Dan Daung Village fired eight heavy artillery shells toward Ko Taung Village, despite the absence of any active fighting. While the shells exploded within the vicinity, they did not hit the residential area directly, and no civilian casualties were reported. Later that afternoon, the military fired additional rounds toward Kudin Gyi Village, with shells landing on the outskirts of the village.
