Benin 🇧🇯 | JNIM claims to have seized two military camps near the Burkina Faso border on the evening of March 7.

🔸 This would be the second cross-border incursion in four days from Burkina Faso, following the attack on Kofouno (W National Park) on March 4, claimed by JNIM, where it claims to have killed 6 Beninese soldiers.

ℹ️ These attacks come shortly after operations by the Beninese Armed Forces (FAB) aimed at hindering the movements of armed groups in western W National Park by destroying their crossing points in the area. (📷 below)

⚠️ JNIM appears to be seeking to make a statement through targeted incursions. This modus operandi, based on rapid raids from border areas, could be a response to the increasing pressure exerted by the FAB in the major parks in the north of the country.

Benin takes the terrorist threat from the Sahel seriously, and its communications regarding Operation "Mirador" highlight the results achieved, illustrating its involvement in the fight against terrorism and the protection of its territory.
