In Bhamo, Kachin State, where fighting is ongoing, an Mi-17 helicopter was reportedly hit, emitted smoke, and had to make an emergency landing in Shwegu, according to sources and the KIA.

"It is true that the 'dragonfly' (helicopter) was hit. It headed toward Shwegu. It didn't crash," a source said.

Regarding the reports of the helicopter being shot, Colonel Naw Bu, the information officer for the KIA, said that while they could not yet fully confirm it, a helicopter that had come to evacuate a battalion commander with the rank of major wounded in the Bhamo battle was fired upon; it emitted smoke and reportedly made an emergency landing in Shwegu.
