The Arakan Army (AA) attacked  Dhanyawaddy naval headquarters in Thit Phut Taung of Kyaukphyu township, killing around 20 soldiers, including some officers, said local sources.

On the night of 5 March, the AA fighters launched a simultaneous attack on Thit Phut Taung naval headquarters and nearby combat ships using more than 10 artillery pieces.

Some of the artillery shells landed in the naval headquarters compound and exploded, a local military source informed Narinjara.
