According to local residents, a junta airstrike on a jade mining site in Ta Ma Khan Village, Hpakant Township, Kachin State, at 1 p.m. today, March 7, killed one civilian woman and injured three others, including a child.
The bomb reportedly hit a worker's shelter within the mining site, killing the mother instantly and injuring her 3-year-old child.
A local resident told DVB, "The air attack targeted the Kyaw Naing jade mine. Two bombs were dropped. Buildings were destroyed. A woman living in the mining quarters died on the spot, and her child was injured. There are about three injured people in total."
The Kyaw Naing site is reportedly a civilian-owned mine. Sources stated the bombing occurred without any active fighting in the area, and all the victims were mine workers.
Ta Ma Khan Village is known to be an area captured and controlled by revolutionary forces.
