The police were alerted to a shooting in Persborg in Malmö on Saturday night. The shots were aimed at a car and a man has been arrested.

– He is suspected of aggravated weapons offenses and aggravated unlawful threats, says Jakob Palmgren, police spokesperson.

The police were alerted to the incident at 01.35 and launched a major operation. A large area at the suspected crime scene was cordoned off and on Saturday morning the police were still at the scene conducting interviews and technical examinations.

– We have finished the technical examination on site but have towed the car and will conduct a technical examination in it, says Jakob Palmgren, police press spokesman, at 9 am on Saturday morning.

The incident is classified as a felony weapon offense and a felony unlawful threat, according to police. A man in his 20s has been arrested.
