On 27 February 2026, a Thai soldier from the 233rd Infantry Company stepped on a landmine planted by suspected Cambodian military at Erawan Base in Chong Rayi in Takhian, Takhian, Kap Choeng (Surin). The blast severely injured a soldier, causing the loss of his right leg and shrapnel wounds to his left arm and leg.
