On 27 February 2026, Afghan military forces launched mortar shells landing near markets in Landi Kotal area (Khyber, KPK), causing explosions. A series of escalated retaliatory cross-border firing, shelling, and air strikes targeting military positions continued for the second consecutive day between the two sides, following intermittent clashes on 24-25 February after Pakistan conducted air strikes on claimed TTP targets inside Afghanistan on 21 February 2026 (coded separately). There were no casualties.
