On 27 February 2026, Syrian army forces stopped a drugs smuggling operation of 180 thousand Captagon pills, after clashing with smugglers who came from Lebanon near Az-Zabdani town in rural Damascus, and confiscated the drugs that were hidden inside shoes and horse saddles, intended to be smuggled into Saudi Arabia. Casualties unknown.
