On 27 February 2026, in Macapa (Amapa), military police officers clashed with suspected members of a drug trafficking group during an operation against organized crime in the Jardim Marco neighborhood, killing one of them. Approximately 10 suspects fled into a wooded swamp area and opened fire at officers, prompting an exchange of gunfire. The deceased man was suspected to be a leader of the group, had three outstanding arrest warrants for drug trafficking, robbery, and homicide, and police found a portion of drugs in his possession. 1 fatality.
