Air Delivered event in Kandahar, Kandahar area, Afghanistan on Thu 26th February 2026

On 26 February 2026, Pakistani military forces carried out airstrikes in Kandahar city, targeting the airport and the former home of Mullah Omar, the founder of the Taliban, which was also a base for the Taliban's suicide unit. Local sources stated that 15 Taliban members were killed in these airstrikes. Pakistan called their retaliatory counter-attack Ghazab-ul-Haq (Truth Fury) and claimed that 133 Taliban forces were killed, more than 200 others were wounded, 27 Taliban military checkpoints were destroyed, and 9 others were captured by Pakistani forces across Nangarhar, Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, Khost and Laghman provinces between 26 and 27 February. However, the Taliban claimed that there were no fatalities in these airstrikes. Total 15 fatalities coded based on the lowest estimate.
