On 26 February 2026, an armed clash erupted between the Iranian Border Guard Command and unidentified militiamen on the border strip of Zabol county (coded to Zabol city) (Nimrouz, Sistan and Baluchestan). Iranian Border Guard Command discovered and seized a suicide vest, 3 kilograms of explosives, 3 homemade detonators, 200 bullets, 2.5 meters of electrical wire, a Kalash weapon, a magazine blade, and 43 rounds of ammunition. No fatalities were reported.
