On 26 February 2026, in Sao Jose de Ribamar (Maranhao), military police officers exchanged fire with two unidentified armed suspects in the Cruzeiro neighbourhood. The officers approached the suspects, who were wanted for shooting two people on the previous day (coded separately). An armed clash took place and both suspects were shot and killed, one of whom was a teenaged boy with a police record for theft. 2 fatalities.
