On 26 February 2026, in Itamaraju (Bahia), civil and military police officers exchanged fire with an armed suspect in the Jaqueira neighbourhood. The officers conducted an operation to locate the suspects of a homicide motivated by religious intolerance and revenge. The suspect resisted to the officers' approach and fired against them, leading to an armed clash. He was shot and killed and four other people were arrested. Police seized a firearm and drugs portioned for sale. 1 fatality.
