On 26 February 2026, in Rio de Janeiro - North Zone (Rio de Janeiro), around 200 military police agents exchanged fire with TCP members in a police operation in the Mare neighborhood. Suspects set barricades on fire to set roadblocks. Agents shot and killed four suspects, arrested two others, seized two rifles, two pistols, radios, grenades, magazines, ammunition, and drugs, and shut down a vehicle dismantling operation and a drug processing and refining facility. Due to the shooting, 43 public schools, and 4 public health facilities had their activities affected. 4 fatalities.
